Hi Brian,

Please make sure you use ALL THE CODE from the 'Flash-Guestbook' page. You have a few bits missing.

Also can you try using a diifferent type of software, can you use Dreamweaver?

Steev.

Hey Brian,

Just had a look at your 'source code', it's a mess!

The book won't work with all the crap around it, sorry.

strip out all unnecessary code from the page - keep it simple - it's only for the guest book and they provide the code for that and it should (will work)

I dont understand how some code can be missing ....i have highlighted all the code.and copied ..........gone into web page maker and inserted html...that brings up a box which i then paste into........it puts the code all on one line .......is this the correct way to do it ?

Yes i have dreamweaver but web page maker (as i said ) is V V Easy....
i suppose this is the trade off......

Cant understand why bits are missing unless WPM restricts the length of html code you can insert......which would be mystifying......

Thanks
Brian

Ok....Now as you can tell im new to this ....and im not sure what you mean by strip out the source code....is the source code a mess because im using a basic web page making software....and will it still be a mess if i re-create the same website using dreamweaver.......

Sorry to be a pain

Brian

Something is interfering with the Flashbook code.

Try using this:
-------------------------
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
</head>

<body>

Your Flash-Guestbook code here.....

</body>
</html>

-----------------------------------

Then use styles or better still use CSS to keep the site consistent.
